Aims/Description: This module focuses on developing skills to support participants to build the confidence to become credible, authentic, inclusive and collegiate teachers. Participants will be introduced to a range of strategies, methods, tools and working practices which they can then explore and experiment with in their own learning and teaching context. There is an emphasis on critical evaluation by the participants of their own practice in light of the experiences and scholarship they engage with as part of the module. Much of the learning is experiential and takes place during the learner's day-to-day professional activities. The module is taught using peer supported learning, collegiate observation and feedback, critical reflection on practice and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. These activities are also designed to provide learners with the opportunity to evidence certain aspects of their practice in line with Descriptor 2 (D2) of the PSF.
Restrictions on availability: Participants will normally hold a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in their subject or area of expertise and be a member of University staff who teach and/or support learning.
