Aims/Description: This unit is concerned with three groups of inorganic and organic materials, all three are important for their functional applications; electroceramics, liquid crystals and magnetic materials.. The functional materials topics build on courses delivered at first and second year level and provide a more in-depth presentation of specific materials properties and their industrial applications. .
