Aims/Description: This course describes the plastic deformation of metals, polymers and glasses indicating the fundamental mechanisms that give rise to sample strain in response to applied stress or arising from thermally induced effects. The deformation mechanisms are related to microstructure and processing and the implications for design considered.
Restrictions on availability: Only available to students studying GEEU01 and GEEU02
