Aims/Description: The student will undertake a placement within a research laboratory within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Original research will be undertaken under the supervision of one or more members of the academic staff. The student will carry out a Literature Survey (reading of original papers and review articles) and further background reading on the research topic. They will prepare and execute a project plan over the year, spending a minimum of two days a week in the laboratory. Project assessment will involve project plan (week 6), interim report including literature review (week 12),final project dissertation, supervisor's assessment and poster presentation.

Restrictions on availability: Available to MEng Biomaterials Science and Engineering students.
