Aims/Description: This is an industrially led module is aimed at exposing you to the use in practise of standards, codes and specifications. This will be undertaken through seminars, where real case studies are discussed from a range of sectors. Examples will include materials selection, process control, non-destructive evaluation, product release and in-service inspection. Discussions will cover topics such as the preparation and implementation of new specifications, the process of standardisation, risks associated with the use of standards, and design constraints associated with the use of standards.
Restrictions on availability: Yes, can only be taken by students studying in Centres for Doctoral Training.
