Aims/Description: This unit is concerned with the way organisations manage and organise their human resources at work, and is thus concerned with the processes that surround managing people from a strategic perspective that focuses on operational practice. A wide range of practical tools and techniques are examined, as well as relevant theories in the field. The utility of HR tools and techniques and issues that surround their introduction, monitoring and evaluation are examined in current employment contexts. This module introduces learners to contemporary issues and thinking in HRM, whilst also encouraging a critical perspective.
